找工作的CV跟申請學校的CV有什麼差別？

求職用履歷及申請學校用履歷的差別，transferable skills如何改寫？

留學申請的CV看重的是：

• 學歷
• 工作經驗
• 研究經驗
• 專業能力
• 其它能力

申請工作的CV，除非是申請學術類的工作，很多地方公司的面試主管不見得會在乎。公司面試主管看重的是：

• 學歷如何幫助工作
• 工作經驗
•  研究經驗如何幫助工作
• 專業能力如何幫助工作
• 其它能力如何幫助工作

學歷的部份，如果修過的課程、專業計畫、論文研究跟工作領域沒有什麼關係的話，公司的主管可能不會有興趣。這些部份就可以寫得很簡短或甚至不要寫。

申請工作用的CV，論文可以不用寫出題目，可以寫領域就好，像是graduation dissertation on US-China relations during the Cold War，或是 master’s dissertation on using sensors on robotic arms in navigating rough terrain。

唸書的時候很會申請獎學金，或是半工半讀卻很會管理時間，可以寫 time management and ability to manage budgets。

如果是跨領域做研究，或是跟其它科系的人一起學習，可以寫 collaboration, flexibility in approaching problems from different perspectives, ability to work with people from different backgrounds。

研究經驗的部份，如果是留學申請，評審應該會對你的研究目得、過程、結果有興趣，但公司的面試主管，可能對這些研究細節沒有興趣。

研究經驗可以把重點轉為 ability to work to tight deadlines, discipline, perseverance, project management, analytical rigor, ability to maintain high level of quality, critical thinking, ability to deal with large amounts of qualitative or quantitative data, trouble-shooting, teamwork。

學術發表的部份，公司的主管應該不會想看到一整排你發表了什麼期刊的什麼paper，除非工作領域跟你的研究領域有密切相關。

學術發表如果變成是申請工作的CV，重點就要放在 organizational and English formal writing skills。

如果參加了多場國際學術會議，有用英文present研究成果，重點就要放在 international collaboration, presentation, and communication skills。

教學經驗的部份，如果有上台授課，重點可以改為 lecture, presentation skills。

如果是跟授課教授互動良好，一起整理資料，幫助學生增加學習效果，可以寫為 collaboration。

如果是有批改作業，指導學生，可寫為 examining and assessing others, ability to offer constructive feedback。

同樣的，社團經驗的部份，留學申請用的CV之中，可以透由社團活動證明你的transferable skills對學校有什麼幫助。公司要看到的transferable skills跟學校要看到的transferable skills可能會不一樣。

如果是擔任社團的總務，可以寫 ability to manage budget, have strong financial sense / have business awareness。

如果是擔任會長，可以寫leadership and organization skills。

如果是參加很多社團，成績還是很不錯，可以寫 time management, commitment。

整體來說，不是說找工作的CV就是加愈多skills愈好，也不是說原先是寫research skills這兩個字，改為collaboration skills就完工了。

以上提到的寫作的出發點。申請學校的CV可以大肆說明自己如何有研究經驗，publications寫滿滿一頁，但是申請工作的CV這些不見得是公司主管想看到的。無論是申請留學的CV還是找工作用的CV，要針對學校、公司是誰閱讀你的CV來調整內容。
