I do not admire Amy Winehouse. First, I think that she has a negative influence on the society. Take her song, Go Rehab, as an example. Through this song, she expressed that although she was addicted to drugs and alcohol, she refused to go to rehab. Second, she had emotional issues and could not control her own behavior. In the end, she died because she drank too much. That’s the reason why I do not admire Amy Winehouse.
I agree that parents should be in the process of helping their children to choose a university. First, parents may know more about job opportunities and career prospects. In this way, parents may know which university their children should go to. Second, since parents love their children, they will compare universities with their children's best interest at heart. For example, when I was deciding which university to go to, I talked about the pros and cons of several universities with my parents. They gave me good advice and played a major role in my final decision. The university is going to switch to electronic textbooks. However, the woman in the conversation opposes the university’s policy. First, students may break their devices or want to replace their devices with the latest version. In this way, students have to spend extra money buying devices. Second, it is difficult for students to use devices to take notes or underline important parts of a book in classes. For example, the control bottom is too small to press. That’s the reason why the woman in the conversation opposes the university’s policy. The professor uses an example to illustrate the concept of swarm intelligence. Ants live in groups, and they will leave their nests to search for food. For example, they encounter a branch blocking their way to their food. One ant will stretch its body, and another ant will walk across the first ant’s body. One ant after another ant, ants will form a bridge to reach for their food. This is the example provided by the professor to illustrate the concept of swarm intelligence. The professor in the conversation has a schedule conflict. She has a review session and her cousin’s retirement party at the same time. Therefore, she has to decide whether she should ask another professor to cover her class or she should go to her cousin’s retirement party after the class. I suggest that she should ask another professor to cover her class. In this way, she does not have to worry that she will miss a lot of fun at her cousin’s retirement party. As for the preparation for the class, I suggest that she can provide another professor with her reading materials. These are the suggestions I would like to give to solve the problem mentioned in the conversation. The professor uses examples to explain how Romans developed their cities. First, Romans had advanced technology to build strong bridges to cross wider rivers. In this way, Romans could establish their cities on both sides of the river. Second, Romans developed devices to transport fresh water from mountains to cities. In this way, citizens did not have to live near rivers to have fresh water. These are the examples provided by the professor to explain how Romans developed their cities.
